US-China Trade Talk Expectation Weigh Dollars, Lift Yuan

 

Dollar fell and the Chinese Yuan rose on Thursday after a report that US was seeking trade talks with China.

Dollars against six major currencies changed a little after falling 0.5 percent the previous day.

Wall Street Journal reported that US proposed China for another round of trade talks. Dollars fell on the latest trade talks. China’s Yuan rose 0.6 percent to 6.8345 per dollar on Wednesday on the expectation of US-China trade talks. Australian dollar, China-related currency was steady at $0.7174 after surging 0.7 percent overnight.

The BoE as well the ECB policy meetings today are not expected to be major events to affect market. But it does remain to be seen if the BoE makes any mention of the recent Brexit talks.

The euro was steady at $1.1627 after edging up 0.2 percent. Dollars changed at 111.21 yen after falling 0.4 percent the previous day.
